A happy, busy nursery where little ones learn to do it themselves

At Daisy Chains Nursery we give children the time, space and encouragement to become confident and independent with the garden door open all day and a key person who knows exactly what makes your child tick.
What makes us different

The little things make a big difference

Parents tell us it's the little things: the outdoor time, the confidence their child builds, and always knowing how their day has gone.

01

Constant outdoor access

Our garden is open throughout the day, so children can move freely between indoor and outdoor play whatever the season.

02

Growing independence

Children are encouraged to make choices and do things for themselves, from dressing and toileting to mealtimes and everyday tasks.

03

Your own key person

Every child has a designated key person, supported by a buddy system so there is always a familiar face who knows them well.

04

Development you can see

We observe and record progress digitally through eyLog, sharing learning journeys, photos and next steps with you daily.

05

Independent snack & mealtime skills

We provide snacks and encourage children to take an active role in preparing their own food, helping them build confidence and independence through everyday routines.

06

Ofsted rated Good

An experienced, qualified team providing care and early education for children aged 2 to 5, helping prepare them confidently for school.

SEND & inclusion

Supporting every child to take part and thrive

Every child deserves to feel understood, included and able to take part in nursery life. We work closely with families and outside professionals to make thoughtful adjustments and provide support around each child's individual needs.

Working together for better inclusion

Working with the council to strengthen SEND provision

Daisy Chains is working with the local council as part of our ongoing commitment to improving inclusion for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

This work helps us continue developing how we identify needs, adapt experiences and make sure children can access nursery life in a way that works for them.

Our approach is centred on inclusion, communication with families and giving children the right support to participate confidently in everyday nursery life.

SEND support in-house

We have two members of the Daisy Chains team providing SEND support within the nursery, helping us respond consistently to children's individual needs within their familiar setting.

2 in-house SEND support team members

Support around the individual child

We look at each child's strengths, needs, routines and interests rather than expecting every child to learn or participate in exactly the same way.

Families kept involved

Parents and carers are an important part of the process. We share observations, listen to what families are seeing at home and work together around children's next steps.

Working with wider support

Where additional input is helpful, we work alongside relevant professionals and local services to support inclusion and help create a joined-up approach around the child.

Learn & Develop Through Doing & Talking

Play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking, which research has shown to be the means by which young children learn to think. Our nursery setting uses the practice guidance Early Years Foundation Stage to plan and provide a range of play activities which help children to make progress in each of the areas of learning and development. In some of these activities in our childcare, children decide how they will use the activity and, in others, an adult takes the lead in helping the children to take part in the activity. In all activities information from the practice guidance to the Early Years Foundation Stage has been used to decide what equipment to provide and how to provide it.

Everyday nursery life

Learning, care and family life

Nursery works best when children feel secure, families feel included and everyday experiences become opportunities to learn.

01

Learning through play

Interesting, age-appropriate activities help children explore the world, practise new skills and build on what they already know.

02

Parents stay connected

Daily eyLog updates, photos, videos and learning journals make it easy to follow your child's experiences and progress throughout their time with us.

03

Independent snack & mealtime skills

We provide snacks and encourage children to get involved in preparing their own food. Children can practise practical everyday skills by helping prepare meals, then washing up using a washing-up bowl and drying rack.
